We boarded Holland America’s Oosterdam yesterday in Malaga and arrived in Cadiz this morning. We explored Old Town on foot, watched surfers in the afternoon sun, and shopped at El Corte Ingles.

Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, Iceland June 24, 2019

Today was the only day I’ve actually been cold! Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and Skaftafell Glacier were really windy. Diamond Beach had beautiful iceberg chunks and seals.

Southern Coast, Iceland June 23, 2019

We started our day at Secret Lagoon hot springs in Fludir. Most people travel to the Blue Lagoon when traveling to Iceland, but I wanted to go somewhere less commercial and off the beaten path. It’s great for children – the deepest part was 4 feet and they had free noodles and life jackets. We … Continue reading »

Our driving itinerary today includes several of Iceland’s most famous sites – Geysir Geothermal Area, Gullfoss waterfall, and Thingvellir National Park. Snaefellsnes Peninsula, Iceland June 21, 2019

We drove from Reykjavik to the Snaefellsnes Peninsula today. Our first stop was the Gerduberg Basalt Columns. When we first saw them from the road, my family was underwhelmed but we had fun hiking and climbing around the columns. The drive from Reykjavik took about an hour and 45 minutes. Reykjavik, Iceland June 20, 2019

When I discovered non-stop flights from Minneapolis to Iceland for under $450 this summer, I decided to plan a family vacation. I’ve sent several clients who have stayed for a few nights on their way to or from other countries in Europe. They raved about the black sand beaches, waterfalls, glaciers, and beautiful landscapes. My … Continue reading »

Ortigia, Sicily November 13, 2018

We flew from Malta to Sicily today and are spending two days on the island of Ortigia in Syracusa. We’re staying at Palazzo Gilistro, which is within walking distance of everything on the island. Prague, Czech Republic July 10, 2015

On our last day in Prague, we went Zorbing and rented a paddle boat on the Vltava River. It’s still incredibly hot, so it felt great to be on the water. Prague Castle was beautiful on the hill and we paddled through a flock of swans.
