Xcaret Parks, Mexico April 19, 2022

We flew from Guadalajara to Cancun this afternoon on Viva, a low-cost Mexican airline. While Guadalajara was warm and dry, Cancun is hot and humid! I’ve traveled to Mexico several times and have seen billboards and ads for Xcaret Parks. I really wanted to visit the parks and found that if you stay at one … Continue reading »

Guadalajara, Mexico April 18, 2022

We drove to Lake Chapala, about an hour south of Guadalajara today. Guadalajara is the home of mariachis and tequila, and there were agave fields lining the roads. We had lunch at a lake-front restaurant with mariachis and drinks and dessert at the beautiful spa resort Hotel Monte Coxala.

Guadalajara, Mexico April 17, 2022

Today we explored the beautiful neighborhood of Tlaqupaque, an artist community in Guadalajara. We had lunch at a traditional Mexican restaurant with mariachis. Many families were having Easter dinner and shopping in the gorgeous art galleries.

Guadalajara, Mexico April 16, 2022

I’m so excited to travel again – this is our first international trip post-Covid! We’re in Guadalajara to visit friends that we met on a Mediterranean cruise 11 years ago. During that cruise, we met people from Ireland and Canada (who we’ve already visited), and we were overdue to visit our friends from Mexico. It’s … Continue reading »

Disney’s EPCOT January 20, 2018

Our biggest draw at EPCOT is the Norway Pavillion and the Frozen ride. Our five year old daughter is a huge fan of Elsa and Anna, so getting a FastPass to the Frozen ride was a big deal! I wasn’t able to get a FastPass before we left, but I’ve been checking every day since … Continue reading »

Disney’s Animal Kingdom January 19, 2018

This is the first time I’ve visited Animal Kingdom, and I was really excited to see the new Pandora – The World of Avatar. I was really impressed by the Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey rides. The lines for both rides looked really long, but passed fairly quickly. We saw several animals on … Continue reading »

Disney’s Magic Kingdom January 18, 2018

We were sad to say goodbye to the Disney Cruise this morning, especially since our daughter woke up with a nasty cough and runny nose. We drove from Port Canaveral to our hotel Disney’s All-Star Music Resort. I called the front desk who recommended an Urgent Care clinic that was five minutes away. They even picked … Continue reading »

Disney Dream January 17, 2018

We spent the day on Disney’s private island Castaway Cay. I absolutely love this island! There are planned activities for children, teens, and adults, or you can just lay on the beach in hammocks or loungers. Scuttle’s Cove has supervised children’s programs for kids 3-12, Serenity Bay is a private beach for those 18 and … Continue reading »

Disney Dream January 16, 2018

The ship docked in Nassau today. This is our 13th cruise and we’ve been to Nassau several times, so we spent the day on the ship. It was nice to have the ship to ourselves while most people were on the island. We spent a lot of time around Mickey and Donald’s pools, swimming and … Continue reading »

Disney Dream January 15, 2018

We flew into Orlando last night and stayed at the Days Inn Cocoa Beach near Port Canaveral. I always like to arrive at the pier the day prior to a cruise to make sure we arrive in time to board the ship. We dropped our rental car off at the port and were on board … Continue reading »
