Tokyo Disneyland, Japan October 20, 2014

Posted by on October 20, 2014

There are two Disney parks in Tokyo – Disneyland and DisneySea. Disneyland is very similar to Magic Kingdom in Orlando with Pirates of the Caribbean, Cinderella’s Castle, Space Mountain, and It’s a Small World. DisneySea is more like Hollywood Studios with Tower of Terror, Toy Story, and Indiana Jones. Alcohol is served at DisneySea, so it tends to attract more adults.

Since we only have one day before we go home, we chose Disneyland. It was much different than going to a Disney park at home as the park was geared towards Japanese families – not Americans visiting Japan. The closest thing we found to American-type theme park food was a hot dog wrapped in a tortilla. It was a great example of Japanese pop culture – the food, the entertainment, and everyone dressed in costumes (children and adults).
