Cozumel, Mexico August 11, 2016

Posted by on August 11, 2016

My family and I have started a 9 day trip to Mexico in Cozumel. I’ve only visited the island on cruises, and I really wanted more time to explore. We’re staying at Cozumel Palace, an all-inclusive resort on the western coast. We flew into Cancun, took a private car to Playa del Carmen, the ferry to Cozumel, and finally a taxi to the resort. We could have flown directly into Cozumel, but flights into Cancun were more affordable.

Cozumel Palace is gorgeous – it is close to downtown, oceanfront, and within walking distance of shopping. Cozumel is known for its diving and has the world’s second longest barrier reef after Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. Many of the resorts do not have beaches – they are oceanfront with direct access to the ocean by steps or piers. Cozumel has a private pier where many dive boats will pick you up and several ladders directly into the ocean. We took our own snorkel gear and snorkeled right off the pier.

We have a 2 level Loft Suite with king bed, bathroom with shower, double jacuzzi, minibar and liquor dispenser, and balcony with hammock on the first floor and 2 double beds, bathroom with shower, minibar, and liquor dispenser on the second floor.
