May 20, 2015 Isla Mujeres, Mexico

Posted by on May 20, 2015

I took the ferry today from Cancun to Isla Mujeres, an island north of Cancun’s Hotel Zone. The ferry took 15 minutes. You can easily explore the island by renting golf carts or scooters – circling the island takes about 30 minutes. The last time I was here, I rented a golf cart for the afternoon for $25. I got a massage on the beach, explored a cemetery, and visited a chapel.

I spent the day at Isla Mujeres Palace, an intimate adults-only all-inclusive resort with only 60 rooms. I really, really liked this resort – the beach was gorgeous, there were hammocks under the palms to relax, and a pier where boats depart for cruises and tours. Guests are transported to the resort by a private yacht and delivered to the pier directly in front of the resort.
