We started our day at Secret Lagoon<\/a> hot springs in Fludir. Most people travel to the Blue Lagoon when traveling to Iceland, but I wanted to go somewhere less commercial and off the beaten path. It’s great for children – the deepest part was 4 feet and they had free noodles and life jackets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We then drove south to Seljalandsfoss, one of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls. There is a path behind the falls, but bring a raincoat or umbrella! There are gorgeous fields of lupine in bloom everywhere. We then drove my favorite waterfall in Iceland, Skogafoss and to Vik for lunch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I must have seriously underestimated how far we had to drive to our cabin for the night. It’s located in the Highlands and rome2rio told me that was an hour and 15 minute drive, but I’m pretty sure we drove for about 3 hours! The cabin is only open in the summer because the roads are impassable in the winter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
