I knew I wanted to cruise the canals but I didn&#8217;t want to be on a large boat full of tourists, so we rented an electric boat from <a href=\"http:\/\/rentalboatsinamsterdam.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Boats4Rent<\/a>. They gave us a map of the canal district with an idea of how much area we could cover in 3 hours. There are no places to stop and dock, so we grabbed sandwiches and drinks on the way to the pier and had a picnic onboard. I had not planned our time in Amsterdam early enough to pre-reserve tickets (and I tried a month and a half prior) so we had to wait in line about 1.5 hours. It wasn&#8217;t too bad &#8211; they provided wifi in line and the weather was beautiful. Like all American kids I read <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Diary of Anne Frank<\/span> in school, but I wanted it to be fresh in my mind. I re-read the diary on the flight to Europe and it made my time at the Anne Frank House much more meaningful.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This morning we started with a 3 hour cruise of the canals.
