We took the train from Bergen to Voss this morning. Voss is considered the adventure capital of Norway with activities including kayaking, zip lines, white water rafting, mountain biking, and rock climbing. The mountain town is set on the edge of a beautiful lake. We hiked to Bordalsgjelet Gorge, located about 30 minutes from our hotel. The trek took us longer on the way there since we got lost twice, but two friendly Norwegians helped us.
We stayed at Scandic Voss, a great hotel connected to the train station. A gondola departs from the station, and adventures tours can be arranged at the hotel. Even though the temperature is in the 50s and it’s been raining all day, people are out biking, hiking, playing volleyball, and skateboarding. Our guide told us the Norwegians believe there is no bad weather, only bad clothing.
