I spoke with an old friend who wanted to take her family on a cruise for Christmas. Shelly, her husband, their college-age daughter, and high school-age son wanted to relax in the sun, explore new places, and spend quality time together over the holidays. I recommended Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, which had a ship departing from Fort Lauderdale for the Bahamas and Jamaica. I’ve cruised with Royal Caribbean several times and really like their variety of entertainment and food, not to mention their incredible service. Shelly needed a special gluten-free diet, which Royal Caribbean was happy to arrange.
Thoughts from Shelly: Cindy, everything went absolutely great! After a crazy taxi ride from Miami to Ft. Lauderdale we relaxed and were able to see the boat from our hotel room when we woke up in the morning. Everything on the cruise ship was wonderful. I can’t tell you how nervous I was to travel after being diagnosed with Celiacs for the first time but everyone on the cruise was fantastic. The head waiter introduced himself and brought us the menu a day in advance so Halley and I were able to order whatever we wanted to eat. They even prepared lunches and pancakes for breakfast for us if we wanted them. Thanks for everything that you did for our family-we had truly had a memorable Christmas cruise. I have attached a picture of our family on formal night. Thanks so much! Shelly
