Today we visited the site of the atomic blast in Hiroshima. It was a very sobering experience, but one I felt was important. The most difficult thing was reading the stories of children and their parents.
We stayed at The World Friendship Center last night, a guesthouse run by volunteers. We slept on futons on tatami mats again and shared a bathroom down the hall. Jet lag finally caught up with me and I went to bed at 7pm.
Baseball is huge here and we’re in the middle of the playoffs for the World Series. I’ve never watched so much baseball on tv before – it’s the only thing I can understand.
