Erg Chebbi Dunes, Morocco 11.4.2013
Our day was fabulous! After breakfast, we headed to Todra Gorge. Our first stop was Tineghir, a beautiful village in the palm-lined valley. Todra Gorge was about 30 minutes down the road, where we saw Berbers doing their laundry in the river on the canyon floor. Our guide Rachid mentioned that we would pass through his … Continue reading
Boumalne Dades, Morocco 11.3.2013
We normally rent a car or use public transportation when we explore a new country. However I had many activities planned and a lot of ground to cover during our week in Morocco, so I arranged a private 4 day, 3 night tour with Tenere Tours. Our driver Sayid and guide Rachid picked us up bright and early from … Continue reading
Marrakech, Morocco 11.2.2013
We hired a local guide to take us on a walking tour of the medina. Our first stop was El Bahia Palace, a beautiful royal home with 160 rooms. The rumors were that the palace was built as a home for the sultan’s wives and official concubines. The size of the rooms and apartments were based … Continue reading

We’re in Africa! We arrived in Morocco this afternoon. We’re staying at Riad Dar Eliane. A riad is a guesthouse with rooms that surround a courtyard that opens to the sky. Our riad is located in medina of Marrakech – the ancient walled city. I arranged for transportation to deliver us to the riad. A … Continue reading
Vancouver, British Columbia 7.1.2013
It’s Canada Day today, which is just like our Fourth of July. We biked around the sea wall of Stanley Park, crossed the Capillano Suspension Bridge, and watched the Canada Day parade and fireworks over the harbor.
Whistler, British Columbia 6.29.2013
Today we went white water rafting and zip lining. We also took the Peak to Peak gondola to the top of Whistler and Blackcomb mountains where we had a snowball fight! On the way down the chair lift, we saw a mother and baby bear playing in the grass.
Whistler, British Columbia 6.28.2013
Whistler was the site of many Vancouver Olympic events. The drive from Vancouver to Whistler on the Sea to Sky Highway was absolutely beautiful – we stopped at the waterfall where Twilight was filmed. The village of Whistler has many restaurants, shopping, bars, and entertainment. We parked the car and walked everywhere.
Seattle, Washington 6.27.2013
We took the monorail north to Seattle Center. The Space Needle is the most famous part of Seattle Center, but there is a beautiful museum dedicated to glass sculptor Dale Chihuly. Chihuly Garden and Glass was gorgeous! Seattle Center also has a cool museum dedicated to music, movies, science fiction, and pop culture. It’s called … Continue reading
Seattle, Washington 6.26.2013
Our son gets to choose our family vacations, and he picked Washington State this year. We have friends in Vancouver and I’ve always wanted to go to Whistler, so we’re on a 10 day trip of the Pacific Northwest. We flew into Seattle last night and were very busy today. We started the day eating donuts … Continue reading
November 16, 2012 Cancun, Mexico
I’m on to Beach Palace and LeBlanc Spa Resort today. Beach Palace is in the center of Cancun’s Hotel Zone. It’s close to shopping and restaurants such as Bubba Gump’s and Outback Steakhouse. I’ve been on twelve cruises and I really think this resort has a cruise ship feel, especially the view from the Sky Floor. This … Continue reading
