Zion National Park, Utah May 6, 2025

Posted by on May 6, 2025

We woke up to snow this morning in Bryce Canyon! It rained and snowed for most of our 2.5 hour drive from Bryce Canyon to Zion National Park. I had planned to stop in Orderville to ride UTVs and hike slot canyons, but I didn’t think it would have been fun or safe in the rain. The drive through Mount Carmel and Zion National Park was beautiful, but we ran into a lot of traffic and tour buses. We’re staying in Hurricane, about 45 minutes by car from the park entrance.

We rented e-bikes, waders, hiking boots, and walking sticks from Zion Guru. We rode our bikes through Zion Canyon and parked out bikes at the Temple of Sinawava about 1pm. We put our waders on and started our hike beginning with the Riverside Walk and through the Narrows. We had blue skies and sun when we left the Visitor’s Center, but it started raining which created beautiful waterfalls in the canyon. We hiked to Wall Street, the narrowest part of the canyon about 3 miles from the Temple of Sinawava. Everything I’d read said to expect large crowds and long shuttle bus lines, but I felt like we had the park to ourselves. The air temperature was 55 and the water temperature was 45, so I’m glad we had our waders to keep us warmer.
